SHOW 44 -- SEASON PREMIERE
Guests: Chuck Connors, Howard Cosell, Amanda Jones "Miss U.S.A. of 1973" and Maria Margarita Moran "Miss Universe of 1973", Cameo appearance by Ed McMahon

1. Sonny and Cher open the show with "Games People Play" and banter about Sonny having performed this summer at the White House for the President of the United States, as well as making a dramatic guest appearance on Marcus Welby with Robert Young. In comedy blackouts, a couple (Sonny and Cher) arrive at the front porch of the lady's home after an evening out; and Sonny gets to meet Miss USA and Miss Universe.
2. "Lady Luck" -- A disgruntled suitor (Chuck) complains to his companion (Cher) about always having to meet her in secluded places; a married woman (Cher) decides to enter into an adulterous affair with a man she met at the train station (Chuck); and a depressed man sitting at a bar (Sonny) tells why he thinks he's a jinx to anyone who comes near him.
3. "At the Launderette" -- Obnoxious housewife Laverne (Cher) offers fashion advice to frumpy friend Olivia (regular Teri Garr) and airs her dirty laundry about husband Harry.
4. Sonny and Cher sing "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" to an animated segment by cartoonist John Wilson.
5. "The Window On the World" -- Chuck and Howard join the show's regulars for a series of skits and one-liners poking fun at headlines in the news and the foibles of modern life, such as the gasoline shortage, pollution, the Japanese space program, the nation's meat shortage, the oldest living football player in the world, and the Watergate scandal.
6. Howard appears as the lonely caretaker of a museum who witnesses the statues as they come to life to sing "Little Darlin'"

1. Sonny and Cher open the show with "I Couldn't Live Without Your Love" and banter about Sonny having his family traced. In comedy blackouts, the chief undercover spy for the Confederacy (Cher) leaves home on a dangerous assignment deep behind enemy lines; and reporter Barbara Nauseous (Cher) interviews Telly about having been approached to be a nude centerfold in Women's Lib magazine.
2. "Lady Luck" -- A masked stranger (Sonny) tries to rescue Cher from the evil Count of Los Angeles (Danny); an elderly woman (Cher) approaches two men in the park (Sonny and Telly), hoping she might get one of them to walk her dog; and a distressed man (Telly) gets even more bad news from his jinxed wife (Cher).
3. "Sonny's Pizza Parlor" -- Danny appears as the owner of the next-door pet store, who comes to the pizzeria complaining about the smell.

5. "A Story About Love" -- Sonny plays a poor student in a takeoff on Love Story, with Cher cast as his wealthy (but very sick) girlfriend and Danny as her fuming father.

7. Danny sings "If I Didn't Care" and is joined by Frankenstein (regular Ted Zeigler) and Count Dracula (regular Billy Van).

SHOW 46 -- THE SONNY AND CHER YEARS
Guests: Dick Clark, Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis, Edd Byrnes, Bobby Vinton, and Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons

1. Dick and Edd recall a few fond memories from the Sixties.
2. Sonny and Cher head a rock and roll medley and open the show with banter about their early lives together. Featured songs in the medley include: "Rock and Roll Is Here To Stay" (Sonny and Cher), "Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On" (Jerry), "Sherry" (The Four Seasons), "Blue Velvet" (Bobby), and "Johnny B. Goode" (Chuck).
3. Dick appears with Sonny and Cher in a comic version of the Bonos' wedding.
4. "Talking About the Sixties" -- Cher introduces a series of sketches based on popular fads of the Sixties. In comedy blackouts, Doris Daze (Cher) reveals to Rock Handsome (Dick) how she's able to afford a ritzy New York penthouse on a librarian's salary; a biker chick (Cher) surprises her boyfriend (Edd) with her announcement that she intends to leave him for a surfer (Sonny); and Batman and Robin (regulars Ted Zeigler and Billy Van) attempt to put an end to their boredom by dressing up in their costumes and going out to fight crime.
5. "The Cultural Spot" -- Sonny is featured as the title character in "The Sonny Swivel Story", a fictitious saga about his overnight discovery as a rock and roll singer and subsequent rise to the top. Cher is cast as Sarah Lou, Sonny's old girlfriend, with Edd playing a record producer, Dick as a national promoter, and regular Ted Zeigler as his manager.
6. Cher sings "Chastity Sun" as home photos of Chastity are shown.
7. Sonny and Cher, with their guests, perform another medley of rock and roll favorites. In comedy blackouts, Sonny plays a convicted man bound for prison who asks his girl (Cher) not to forget about him while he's gone; and a prisoner known for his bad temper (Jack) is evaluated by a doctor (regular Billy Van) before he can be considered a free man.
2. "Lady Luck" -- Julius Caesar (Jack), with his lovely wife Calphurnia (Cher) at his side, believes everything that could possibly happen to one man has happened to him -- except being stabbed by five men; a famous movie star (Ed) is secretly having an affair with a married woman (Cher) when Ralph Edwards (Sonny) surprises him with a This Is Your Life presentation; and a drunken Ed embarrasses Sonny during a flight by making a fool of himself on the plane.
3. "At the Launderette" -- Laverne (Cher) disturbs Olivia (regular Teri Garr) with her talk of inflation and horse meat being sold at the market.
4. Jack joins Sonny and the show's regulars for a dignified rendition of "The Cover Of the Rolling Stone"
5. "The Svengarlic Story" -- Jack is cast in this opera spoof as the title character, a sinister magician who, through hypnotism, transforms a totally untalented match girl into the world's greatest opera singer. (Cher plays his warbling protégé, regular Billy Van is his butler, Ed is the eccentric millionaire who will finance her opera career, and Sonny is the most temperamental opera singer in the world.)
6. "Mr. and Ms." -- Sonny's father (Ed) drops by for a visit, and Cher is immediately ready for him to leave.

Guests: Jim Nabors and Lassie, Cameo appearance by Telly Savalas

1. Sonny and Cher open the show with "Everything Is Beautiful" and banter about Sonny's claim that he's in perfect physical shape. In a comedy blackout, Sonny's singing is put down by Jim, Lassie and a little girl in the park (Cher).
2. "Lady Luck" -- As an employee from the pound (Jim) responds to reports of disorderly conduct, Sonny and Cher try to encourage Chastity, with Lassie at her side, that they're sure the neighbors stuck up for them; Telly makes the announcement that his new CBS detective series, Kojak, has been scheduled to air on Wednesday nights, the same evening as The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour; and a pair of medieval knights (Jim and Sonny) compete for Cher's affection at a jousting tournament.
3. "Mr. and Ms." -- While waiting for their wives to get home for dinner, Sonny and Jim decide to try husband-swapping.

5. "At the Launderette" -- Laverne (Cher) tells Olivia (regular Teri Garr) how football has come between her and husband Harry.

7. Regular Freeman King introduces a film clip from The Planet Of the Apes that was supposedly cut from the original production, in which a stranded astronaut (Jim) is caged with another human specimen (Cher).

9. "The Cultural Spot" -- Jim portrays a roguish pirate captain with a mutinous crew in a comic opera set to country-western music. (Cher is cast as the lovely Lady Angeline, who poisons the captain in order to save her brother, and Sonny is the wine steward who was taken prisoner from another ship.)

SHOW 51 -- SPECIAL HALLOWEEN SHOW

1. Sonny and Cher open the show with "All I Really Want To Do" and banter with Billie Jean about her victorious win against Bobby Riggs. In comedy blackouts, a pair of archaeologists (Sonny and Cher) find the famous lost Dutchman (regular Billy Van); and Sonny, thinking he was the first human to ever climb to the top of the tallest mountain in the universe, is dismayed when he finds out the Penthouse Pet Of the Year and her photographer (Andy) were there first to do a nude layout.
2. "Lady Luck" -- Sonny's fairy goddaughter (Chastity) has him bet everything he owns on the wrong number; having spent twenty years in solitary confinement, a convict (Andy) is excited to be able to see his girl (Cher) and hear her voice again; and Sonny takes off all of his clothes to take part in a football scrimmage at a nudist colony -- and ends up being the one left holding the ball when the police arrive.
3. "The Window On the World" -- Everyone takes part in a montage of sketches and one-liners poking fun at current events and people in the news. Topics include a formal dinner party hosted by Billie Jean, Julie Nixon Eisenhower's new position on a children's magazine, a nude photo shoot with Penthouse publisher Bob Guccione, and the National Space Institute's study of gorillas.
4. "At the Launderette" -- Billie Jean joins Laverne (Cher) and Olivia (regular Teri Garr) for a discussion of men and swinging singles.
5. Sonny and Cher perform a medley of "Rockin' Down the Highway" and "Born To Wander"
6. Cher and Andy appear in a skit about a sore loser in a friendly ping-pong game.
7. Cher sings "Yesterday"
8. "Never In America" -- The president of a fictional country called Asparagus (Andy) tries to secretly record his meeting with a Russian ambassador (regular Ted Zeigler).
9. Sonny sings "Say, Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose?" to an animated version of the song by cartoonist John Wilson.

1. Sonny and Cher open the show with "Say, Has Anybody Seen My Sweet Gypsy Rose" and banter about the nation's food shortage. In a comedy blackout, an elderly mother (Cher) tries to convince her daughter (regular Teri Garr) to give up her wild life and come home with her.
2. "At the Launderette" -- Laverne (Cher) reveals several scathing comments about the automobile industry and husband Harry.
3. Sonny and Cher perform a medley of "That'll Be the Day" and "Oh, Boy"
4. Douglas is featured in a poetic skit as a troubled man who, following his doctor's advice, goes to a quaint little place to get away from the pressure and noise.
5. Kris and Rita sing "A Song I'd Like To Sing"
6. "The Window On the World" -- Douglas, Kris and Rita join the show's regulars for a montage of quips and sketches based on current events and people in the news, including the Supreme Court's controversial ruling on pornography, Barbara Nauseous (Cher) interviewing the champion fisherman who caught the largest fish in history, and the live TV coverage of the space program's landing on Mars.
7. The French Foreign Legion looks for a volunteer to wrestle a live crocodile.
8. Cher sings "You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You"

"The Prisoner Of Cadenza" -- When Prince Rudolph (Sonny) gets drugged by Wolfgang, his evil cousin (regular Ted Zeigler), to prevent him from being present at his own coronation, his clever wife, Princess Adrienne (Cher), persuades an impostor (Douglas) who is the spitting image of her husband to pretend to be Rudolph and usurp his rightful place as the king of Cadenza.

1. Sonny and Cher open the show with "Take Life a Little Easier" and an opening dialogue.
2. "Lady Luck" -- Everyone takes part in blackouts on gambling, everyday problems, and jobs offered to women which are normally associated with men.
3. "At the Launderette" -- Laverne (Cher) tells Olivia (regular Teri Garr) about seeing Sonny and Cher in person.
4. Sonny and Cher perform "The Beat Goes On"
5. "Sonny's Pizza Parlor" -- Heavyweight boxing champ George Foreman is embroiled in a dough-throwing fight at the pizzeria.
6. Ken portrays a character similar to Jerry Baker, author of the book Plants Are Like People, trying to teach Sonny how to grow happy plants.
7. Cher sings "I Am . . . I Said"
8. Sonny reminisces about the well-loved songs sung around the piano through U.S. history. Featured selections include: "A Song For You" and "Blowin' In the Wind."

1. At the opening of his radio show, Wolfman introduces his mother (Cher) to explain to his listeners why he talks the way he does.
2. Sonny and Cher head a rock and roll medley and open the show with banter about their early years in show business together. Featured songs in the medley include: "Rock and Roll Is Here To Stay" (Sonny and Cher), "Breaking Up Is Hard To Do" (Neil), "I'm Henry the VIII, I Am" (Peter), "Diana" (Paul) and "Charlie Brown" (The Coasters).

3. Sonny and Cher sing "Higher Ground" to an animated version of the song by John Wilson.
4. Conrad appears as Santa Claus, listening to Sonny's gift orders for the holidays.
5. Sonny sings "The Twelfth Of Never"
6. "The Legend Of the Snow" -- William is featured as a disgruntled winter who won't let the snow fall.

1. Old Year '73 (Ernie) welcomes in New Year '74 (Chastity).

4. "The Vamps" -- Sonny and Cher appear as Orphan Annie and Daddy Warbucks, introducing the vamps found in the comic strips. Comedy sketches have Mickey and Minnie Mouse (Sonny and Cher) quarreling over Minnie's attraction to Mighty Mouse (Ernie); Bluto (Ernie) trying to seduce Olive Oyl (Cher) away from Popeye (Sonny); and Daisy Mae (Cher) and Hawg Gal (regular Teri Garr) competing for L'il Abner's (Ernie's) hand in marriage.

1. Sonny and Cher open the show with "Top Of the World" and an opening dialogue.
2. "The Super Bowl Follies" -- O. J. and Ted join the regulars in a series of blackouts about gridiron antics.
3. Cher sings "Holly Holy"
4. "At the Launderette" -- Laverne (Cher) heads the offense in a verbal drive against football and its fans.
5. Ted sings "Another's Lifetime"
6. Sonny and Cher perform "River Of Love"

Guests: Sally Struthers and The Jackson Five, Cameo appearance by Tennessee Ernie Ford

1. Reporter Barbara Nauseous (Cher) gets the reactions of the terror-stricken viewers as they leave the premiere of the horror suspense film The Exorcist.
2. Sonny and Cher open the show with "Take Life a Little Easier" and banter about the theater being Sonny's first love. In a comedy blackout, an Arabian sheik (regular Ted Zeigler) auctions off two captured maidens (Cher and regular Teri Garr) to the highest bidders.
3. A famed German scientist (regular Billy Van) is interviewed by the press about his discovery of a pill that will make any person ageless.
4. Cher sings "Bridge Over Troubled Water"
5. Ernie appears as the commander of a group of spaced-out astronauts who are returning to Earth after being in space for more than three hundred days.
6. "Mr. and Ms." -- Sally makes an appearance as Jackie, a wild playgirl who once had an affair with Sonny before he and Cher were married.
7. The Jackson Five perform "Dancing Machine"
8. "The Window On the World" -- Everyone takes part in a montage of sketches and one-liners based on current events and individuals in the news, including Henry Kissinger's Geneva meetings, a report on famed ecologist Euell Gibbons, the domestic problems of a woman married to a bear, and an attempt by a robber to hold up a gas station that is operated by appointment only.
9. "The Boogie Woogie Sisters" -- Cher, Sally and regular Teri Garr spoof The Andrews Sisters as fairy tales get the satirical treatment. 2. "The Cops" -- Joe joins the Comedy Hour regulars in a musical-comedy satire of the Keystone Cops. In comedy blackouts, two officers (Joe and regular Ted Zeigler) interrogate a man (regular Murray Langston) in an attempt to get something they want; a rookie cop (Joe) is put in his place by one of the toughest recruiting officers (Cher); an inspector from Scotland Yard (Joe) assures a wealthy couple (Sonny and Cher) that they're safe from the national jewel thieves; and the new craze of writing tell-all books about their occupations is sweeping through a police station.

"Lady Luck" -- An elderly woman (Cher) identifies Sonny from a police lineup as the man who accosted her; Sonny is the victim of a practical joke about a jealous husband, which was arranged by Candid Camera staffers Allen Funt (Joe) and Dorothy Collins (Cher); and a pair of traveling salesmen (Sonny and regular Billy Van) run out of gas in an out-of-the-way area and end up at the cabin of a farmer (Joe) and his daughter.
8. "Mr. and Ms." -- Sonny drops by Cher's office unannounced and is immediately jealous of her new temporary secretary (Joe).
